We had a blast celebrating Chicago Craft Beer Week with all of our beer geeky friends, brewers and enthusiasts alike. We’re wrapping this ‘week’ — when are we just going to go a full Craft Beer Fortnight, already? — up with a little something off the beaten path.
Tonight is Motley Brü, a non-ticketed beer dinner in which beer fanatics and non-fanatics can feast alongside each other as friends. Our taps are all pouring Solemn Oath, Penrose and Perennial, ales sure to delight any hopped up palette, while Chef Pat Sheerin devised a perfectly paired tasting menu to suit one brew per brewery.
But you don’t have to get on the message boards to find your dining companions tonight, bring your regular friends or partners with you and they can order a cocktail, or a soda, or nothing at all to pair with our regular delicious menu (also devised by Chef Pat Sheerin). Maybe you can turn them onto your favorite Penrose beer or a totally righteous brew from Solemn Oath. Or not. You could also just realize that we can all coexist peacefully, even during Craft Beer Week.
Beer Tasting Menu (served open-close)
Solemn Oath Brewery: bacalao fritters, pickled pineapple, red curry
Penrose Brewing Co.: coffee bacon, cocoa nib financier and black garlic and orange puree
Perennial Artisan Ales: chorizo ‘nduja tortellini en brodo
