We never take for granted how lucky we are to be able to work with food day in and day out — it’s our passion and our pleasure to prepare the meals that comfort you, fortify you, and bring you and friends together around a shared table.
And our gratitude extends beyond our brick and mortar walls whenever we get an opportunity. Next month, Chef Pat Sheerin is participating in raising dollars for a cause that is dear to our hearts: providing nutrition to hungry Chicagoans.
Meals on Wheels has been fighting hunger since World War II, when folks in the UK banded together to provide for those made homeless during the Blitz. After 1941, the organization migrated across the pond and has grown in leaps and bounds, now providing sustenance for seniors and disabled persons across the country. Meals on Wheels of America works tirelessly towards the social, physical, nutritional and economic betterment of vulnerable Americans by providing the tools and information its programs need to make a difference in the lives of others.
The Chicago chapter of Meals on Wheels has a wonderful event next month that brings together the city’s best chefs and mixologists to raise money and awareness for their commendable cause. The Celebrity Chef Ball, featuring over 80 chefs and 13 mixologists will be held on November 7th at Morgan Manufacturing. This amazing event is one of Chicago’s longest-running culinary fundraisers, raising more than $200,000 each year.
It’s an event to remember for a truly worthy cause. Tickets are still available here!
